Hemp and marijuana are the same cannabis sativa plant species. We’ve bred the cannabis sativa plant to have different amounts of Delta-9-THC for different uses. The 2018 Farm Bill defined hemp as any cannabis sativa plant that contains less than 0.3% Delta-9-THC (by dry weight).  

Jota Living products start with hemp that has less than 0.3% THC, so we can be legal in most states. We use the same extraction and manufacturing process as marijuana companies to create our infused products. You can learn more about our manufacturing process on our blog. 

Delta 9 THC legality can be a bit complex. Federally, hemp-derived Delta 9 THC is legal as long as it contains less than 0.3% THC by dry weight, thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill. However, state & local laws vary, so always check your local regulations before purchasing or consuming Delta 9 products.

Delta-8 and Delta-9 THC are both cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, but they have some key differences. Delta-9 THC is the well-known compound that produces the traditional “high” associated with marijuana. It’s the most abundant cannabinoid in cannabis. On the other hand, Delta-8 THC has a slightly different chemical structure and is considered a minor cannabinoid, found in smaller amounts. Your Delta 9 THC dosage depends on your experience and various personal factors like body weight, whether you’ve eaten, and if you’re taking other substances.

For beginners, we recommend starting with half a gummy and seeing how you feel. Experienced users might start with one whole gummy. Always start low and go slow to find your ideal dose.
